Michael Dutra specializes in providing institutional investors with comprehensive investment advice and research. Mr. Dutra works with clients to manage alternative investments, including commodities and hard assets, as part of diversified investment portfolios.
Prior to becoming a consultant, Mr. Dutra was an associate at the international law firm White & Case LLP. Mr. Dutra has extensive legal experience in the corporate and banking sectors focusing primarily on bank finance, infrastructure finance, and mergers and acquisitions matters.
While at White & Case, Mr. Dutra advised represented institutional clients on the financing of infrastructure projects located in Latin America, the United States, and the Middle East. Mr. Dutra?s practice included advising clients on various legal issues ranging from regulatory to finance issues. Additionally, Mr. Dutra worked with private equity and other clients on mergers and acquisitions matters in the United States, the Middle East, Europe, and Russia. Mr. Dutra worked out of White & Case's New York and Los Angeles offices.
Mr. Dutra holds degrees from Georgetown University (Juris Doctor, cum laude) and the University of Southern California (B.A. in International Relations/Political Science, summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa). Mr. Dutra is a member in good standing of the New York Bar. Mr. Dutra has published articles in the Journal of Transnational Law & Policy and the Asian-Pacific Law & Policy Journal.
